Health Ministry
Health Ministry of Christ Church seeks to engage the congregation in promoting and attaining the optimal state of physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health and well-being for all who are connected to the church community. It is composed of volunteer members of the church who work together to develop and implement the health ministry program. The Health Ministry Team encourages congregational and community involvement - utilizing and sharing resources that promote interdependence among God's people, along with the practice of good stewardship of body, mind, and spirit. Members can be identified with gold nametags on Sunday mornings.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

Our next blood drive will be held Tuesday, February 21 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Christ Church Harbor Apartments. Please sign up during coffee hours beginning Sunday, January 29th to share the gift of life. Many of our long term donors are taking medications or have traveled to foreign countries and can no longer donate blood.

We need blood donors!

Blood is needed by cancer patients, burn victims, and patients needing surgery, hemophiliacs, persons who are anemic and have sickle cell disease, accident victims, and many more! It takes 300,000 pints a year to cover the need in our Chesapeake and Potomac Region, supplying blood in eighty hospitals each day.

Please donate and ask a friend to come with you. The Red Cross reports there is not a large enough blood supply at this time to serve all of the needs in our community.

A unit of whole blood can be separated into components and used to treat three or four people. The donation process takes about one hour from registration to the end of the donation. Please sign up to give the gift of life.
