Holy Communion

Contemporary Worship - 8:45 a.m.
We
enter Holy Week with the traditional blessing and distribution
of Palms and singing of the great hymns of the day. This year's
formal servcies willl be more like the Palm Sundays of yesteryear.

Contemporary worship will begin outside and walk around the
block hearing the story of Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem
with shouts of "Hosanna" and ending with shouts
of "Crucify Him." Service concludes inside with
Holy Communion. Pastor Dubsky, preaching. (Dress for weather.)

11:00 a.m. - Service of Prayer and Preparation
7:15 p.m. - Preparatory Service
Spy
Wednesday in some Christian traditions is so named in commeration
of the betrayal of Jesus by Judas. This is a service of penitence
and spiritual preparation for the most holy mysteries of faith
that the church will commemorate over the next three days
of Holy Week. Pastor

Maundy
Thursday, March 20
Noon & 7:30 p.m.
One of
the most beautiful and moving liturgies of the year will be
celebrated. Hauntingly beautiful music, foot washing, and
the stripping of the altar, remind us of the depth of God's
love and the Lord's command to love one another. Pastor Sabatelli,
preaching.
Good Friday,
March 21
Noon
to 3 p.m.
The
traditional three-hour service will feature the preaching
of the Passion using the Seven Last Words of Christ from
the cross and special music for choir and violin. You may
come for all or part of the service.
AND
Johann Sebastian Bach's St. John Passion
7:30 p.m.
A second opportunity to worship through music and the word.
This performance is in English. The Chorales will be sung
by the congregation and the Bach Choir. Pastor
Sabatelli, preaching.
