Judith Cobb

Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care

The Rev Judith Ann Cobb has come out of retirement to serve Christ Church as an interim for Pastoral Care.  She serves with her husband, The Rev. James Cobb.  Both are appointees of Bishop William Gohl.  She is mother to Christopher  who lives in Baltimore and Stephen in Richmond

Pastor Judy Cobb is a native of Baltimore where she attended Ascension Lutheran , Towson, and graduated from The Bryn Mawr School. She is a graduate of Upsala Lutheran  college, and the Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg ( now United Seminary) and course work at Lutheran Southern Seminary. 

She served the Church as an Associate in Ministry during child rearing times. Her assignments included: instructor at community college, pastoral counselor, director of education and youth ministry, chaplain at Old Dominion University. Upon ordination she served large congregations in Norfolk, Va, Gettysburg, Pa, and returned to her home congregation as co -pastor with Pastor Jim Cobb. In addition she  has served as Region 8 coordinator, deployed staff for the ELCA, interim Assistant to the Bishop , DEMD synod, and interim to Apostles Lutheran, Gloucester, VA.Pastor Cobb has served on committees for the ELCA:Division for Ministry,Augsburg Fortress,  Means of Grace task force and varied synod committees including Candidacy .
