Due to extensive COVID-19 early childhood classroom guidelines that impact teacher/student ratios and limit enrollment, Christ Church Nursery School has made the difficult decision to postpone opening for the 2020-2021 school year.
Continue to visit the website for the 2021-2022 school year registration dates. We will miss the joy the children bring to the halls of the church and look forward to the laughter, smiles, and learning that will return in September of 2021. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay tuned!

Located just minutes away from Baltimore City’s Inner Harbor in the Federal Hill and Otterbein communities, Christ Church Nursery School is part of Christ Lutheran Church, that has served this area for over 125 years.
Christ Church Nursery School (CCNS) offers programs for children who are two and three years old. We strive to help our children build a positive self-image by providing a loving and an accepting environment. Our philosophy is to inspire the joy of curiosity and the delight of discovery through rich and varied age-appropriate activities Our mission is to provide an environment where children can let their light shine.
Christ Church Nursery School is an MSDE non-public/church-exempt program for children ages two and three.

Christ Church Nursery School nurtures the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development of each child through academic and play activities. The curriculum is based on the STREAM instructional model of Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics and offers a balance among cognitive, effective, and psychomotor activities.

Children are guided through hands-on learning centers that incorporate math/manipulatives, reading and language activities, and science exploration. Typical daily activities include chapel, music, art, circle time, literary enrichment, creative play, and outdoor play.

At CCNS, mornings start with chapel time led by our teachers or one of the church pastors. Children enjoy Bible stories and grow spiritually by participating through song, dramatic play, and prayer. We understand the importance of play as an important part of our children’s social development. Children develop habits of cooperation and respect for others through housekeeping play, building play, and free play. Each year our children are visited by police officers, firefighters, dentists, doctors, nurses, veterinarians, and other professionals in our community, and parents are welcome and encouraged to visit.
