Patrick Ballard

Associate Pastor

Pastor Patrick Ballard is serving his first call in ordained ministry here at Christ Church. He was born in Maryland and is a passionate Orioles fan, but grew up in North Carolina. He attended North Carolina State University where he began studying Chemical Engineering before discerning a call to ministry and graduating with a B.A. in Communication. He then went on to Gettysburg Seminary where he was active in the student association, serving as the student association treasurer and as a class representative. While a student at Gettysburg Seminary, he also worked part-time in the admissions department for the three years he was on campus. During his internship year he served as the Vicar at Lutheran Church of the Reformation on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C where his passion for public ministry was nurtured.

Pastor Patrick is called to develop and sustain the gifts of our young people and sees great potential in the congregation and the wider church to foster intergenerational relationships and learning. He is grateful for the gifts of being part of a denomination and congregation that takes seriously God’s call to serve the community, the nation and the world, and continues to work toward expanding these gifts.

Pastor Patrick lives in the neighborhood and continues to look for ways to engage the folks that live and work near Christ Church. When he’s not at the church or visiting parishioners, you can often find him at a ballgame, sampling a well-aged bourbon, or just walking around the harbor taking in the sites, always thankful to God for the richness of creation and our place therein.
